Pauline Margaret Rhymes passed away peacefully on the 28th August 2009 aged 68 years. A loving wife
to John who were together for 50 glorious years, a wonderful mum to Lesley, Louise, Sally and Jason
and a treasured nana and great nana.
Our mum Pauline was a very beautiful person, she was loved by many many people and a very popular
lady, always happy and smiling. Mum loved to go out socialising and was a keen member of the local
bowls team and won numerous medals, and will be sadly missed at the club.
Mum loved holidays and travelled to places as far as Australia, she enjoyed luxury cruises and
exotic holidays in the Maldives, mum had a very full life. We all miss her terribly but mum always
taught us to fight on and we are doing mum the best we can, we love you so much x
Taken from us too soon and so suddenly, reunited with daughters Lorraine and Lesley and Grandaughter
Stacey safe in each others arms until we all meet again x GOD BLESS RIP x
Mothers Love
Theres nothing like a daughter
Or a mothers love
No one can ever take that
Not even him above
She may not be here with you
Or on the phone each day
But that doesnt stop you thinking
Or loving her in every way
Your memories they cant be stolen
Your grief you can not hide
But what you must remember
Is shes always by your side
You know she,d never leave you
The bond you have so strong
Even though you didnt seem
To always get along
That tie can not be severed
Or the maternal link undone
For no one can replace her
There is but only one
Legacy of Love
A wife, a mother, a nana too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep. xxx
The Dragonfly
Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions. Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their friend was dead, gone forever.
Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top. When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying.
So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never known existed. Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended. But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!
